First Share Pick-Up of the Spring!

We were excited to harvest a great bunch of crops this month, which meant that we had an earlier-expected farm share start date.

This week’s share included:

Spinach
Kale
Baby Beets with Greens
Swiss Chard
Chive Flowers
Hakurei Turnips
Arugula
Head Lettuce
Rhubarb Sauce
Parsley or Sage Plant

We’ve had a lot of people ask us about storing and cooking their vegetables, so we are planning to include tips each week on this blog (as well as a hard copy of a recipe or two). We want to ensure that you get the most of your farm share, so check back often for the farm share schedule and valuable information about your produce.

We are also planning to have a guest blogger who will illustrate some additional ways of cooking with your produce for a bit of added inspiration.

In other farm news, we have a great little group of chicks running around with their mother hen. If you happened to pick up your farm share on Tuesday, you may have seen them hanging out with the pigs in their pen!
