What’s in the Basket – June 5, 2012

After a weekend of torrential rain, we have harvested a great bunch of produce for this week’s pick-up. In your basket this week:

Oakleaf Lettuce
Chard
Golden Beets with Greens
Kale
Hakurei Turnips
Arugula
Romaine Lettuce
Scallions
French Tarragon
Your choice of a Thyme Plant or a Sungold Tomato

And in this week’s pick-up, we will be including some tips on washing, drying and storing your greens. See you this afternoon or Friday!

My son will only have lettuce on a sandwich if it is cut up. He informed me I need not cut the lettuce because he could bit right through. Gotta love tender greens that won’t pull out of your sandwich. Lettuce, tender like butta’. YUM! KIM
