There came a time when the risk to remain tight in the bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom. Anais Nin
It felt like spring might never arrive this year. The long, cold days and nights held us in their grip through March, April and most of May. Last week we finally shed our sweaters and hats, and watched as the blossoms and translucent green leaves popped. We are still in need of rain, and starting to irrigate the fields earlier than we ever have. Despite the relentless cold and wind this spring, our hard work has payed off and we will start harvesting for our CSA the week of June 7. We are looking forward to the start of our new season; to see old friends and to meet new farm members. We have a few shares left to sell, so if you were hoping to join our farm community this season you can See our 2016 Milkweed Farm CSA Application for more information.
We will be offering the Wholesome Holmstead Dairy Share again this year. There are a limited number of shares offered, so sign up soon! You can read more about the share and get the application at http://goo.gl/forms/w4zjKRkXVG.
